Cabinet Ministers Told To Plan For 40% Departmental Cuts - Budget Only Outlined 20% Reductions

4/7/2010 3:28 AM BST

Britain takes Tories at its best ! Deficit ? For decades the US have an horrendous deficit. In 2010 it amounts to $13 trillion dollars, 88.9% of its GDP. Even so they keep their economy growing up. They did not cut essential services or laid off public jobs. They even managed to reform access to health services to the poorest families over there. Instead of draconian measures, they regulated the Banks which are the culprits of the mess that the world is at moment. This is the same old Tories in power with the same selective and unfair policies. Now they have the excuse of a "deficit" to inflict us the most regressive policy in modern history. I still can't believe that the Liberal Democrats are contributing to this. Shame on you.

It is a joke when the CONDEM talks about cutting costs and at the same time they are prepared to spend a minimum of £80 billion to replace Trident nuclear defence system. Who wins the prize ? Armament corporations in US and some over here. So, we can cut about 1.3 million jobs, deprive more our already deprived poor families, forcing people to find a job where there is not, laying off 35k police officers etc. Even the far right newspaper Daily Mail says that the cuts on welfare will cost many lives and increase alcohol-related deaths. Before cutting services and reducing welfare, first we need to pump the economy to create jobs, not the other round.

Although I agree that we need to help poor countries, I think that if we do need to make cuts, we should prioritise our people first. £ 13 billion to foreign aid is 10 times more than the cuts on housing benefit which helps many families to have a roof over their heads.

How to classify an Europhobe

Many biased spurious arguments. Half truth and exaggeration. Xenophobia and fear. These are the main ingredients to make a real Europhobe. They are everywhere and at all costs try to get you on board. They do not enjoy the two main achievements from being part of the European Union. For the first time in history we enjoy more than 50 years of peace in Europe. We don't fight each other for market dominance, land or race. We live harmoniously. Secondly, the freedom of movement. We are free to go anywhere, live anywhere, work anywhere, trade anywhere. The Union makes the strength. I can classify the Europhes in 4 groups: They are: Group A (The Mentally raped) Those who are lead by the partial media which publishes inaccurate or exaggerated stories (Euromyths), most of which give the impression of absurd bureaucracy and over-regulation. Coupled with poor education, poor access to accurate and unbiased information, I call this group the "The mentally raped". They

The context of this social unrest in London

Decades of individualism, competition and state-encouraged selfishness – combined with a systematic crushing of unions and the ever-increasing criminalisation of dissent – have made Britain one of the most unequal countries in the developed world. Since the Tories came to power just over a year ago, we witnessed multiple student protests, occupations of many universities, several strikes, a half-a-million-strong trade union march and now unrest on the streets of the capital. Each of these events was sparked by a different cause, yet all take place against a backdrop of brutal cuts and enforced austerity measures. Tottenham has the fourth highest level of child poverty in London and an unemployment rate of 8.8%, double the national average, with one vacancy for every 54 seeking work in the borough. Finally, police are not omnipotent.  This situation has underlined very clearly that law and order is generally maintained by consent, not coercion.
