Another cosmetic measure, another useless reform. There is one thing so primary, so essential that the ministers do forget: Prevention is better than a cure. And cheaper. GP's are so keen to keep costs low due to pressure from the NHS management that exams for an early diagnosis is often left at last resource. Many times they guess what you have instead of referring you for exams. Mistakes, wrong or ineffective medicines, time wasting, patient agony, all this contribute to a failure and expensive health system. Early and precise diagnosis saves lives and money.
